Your mother is around my age. For years my CRP was always less than .5, until I got UC. The only way for me to lower my CRP, which spiked to over 100 during my flare, was ending the flare.
And because remission does not mean "cure", I will always experience chronic inflammation even if it is well below the surface during remission. That is why I am not surprised that my CRP has not returned to the .5 level again. My CRP now is 10 times that at around 5.0.
Except at the end of my last flare when I really was taking anti-inflammatories like curcumin, E complex, etc. to help end the flare, then my CRP was around .3. But I don't take 20 pills/day any more.
Do you trust Life Extension? Some people don't since they might cherry pick data to help sell their supplements. Here is one article describing everything you might want to know about
