Need Advice

I had a colonoscopy in Feb and everything looked ok. Then in April I found out that SF Rowasa is on back order from the manufacturer. I had been taking it everyday so I started to cut back to every other day, and when my supply ran low I cut back to every 3rd day. I have 2 weeks worth remaining, which isn't enough. Now UC symptoms are starting, multiple BM's (3-4, in the morning), and urgency. No blood/ mucus. I'm not in panic mode yet but I called my GI to find out if there is anything I can take to hold me over until SF Rowasa becomes available again.

GI wants to put me on a 6 day pred taper and then said we can discuss 6mp or humera. He is also doing a test for c diff.

I'm so so frustrated. I'm not ready to move up the medication ladder yet. But I also don't want to end up in a full blown flare either. Any suggestions on what I can try or am I just screwed?

Unless you have problems with the sulfide, you might use the generic Rowasa.

I tried generic Rowasa but I must have a sensitivity because it made me have worse D. I'm not allergic so that's why I say sensitivity. I tried it for a few days, just to be sure.
