Antibiotic Question (Doxycycline)

Hi guys. Im in remission (UC) right now and have been prescribed DOXYCYCLINE ANTIBIOTIC (100mg twice a day for 3 weeks) to treat a chronic sinus infection that I've had for about 3 months.
Do any of you guys have any experience with this medication? Id love to hear your insight on how it made you stomach feel/how you yolerated it.

(Extra info) I was given augmentin and after 4 doses I had to stop because it caused D. The other choice was Levaquine, but the doc wouldnt perscribe it because it messes with bone density. I could try to get a minute clinic to perscribe it if you guys have had good experiences. I dont trust my doctors anymore after the augmentin. Thanks in advance.

I was on doxycycline when I had oral surgery but not for nearly as long. I didn't have a problem with it but I know others do.

I think I had augmentin for an ear infection and then possibly something else and a few months later ended up with UC. :(

I've had no problems with doxycycline and 99% of antibiotics taken in past caused no problems for me. The only one that kills my gut and horrible symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea) is ciprofloxacin and I think levaquine may be in that family. Never taken augmentin.

Take tons of probiotics between doses of antibiotics. I has something (maybe augmentin) for a sinus infection about 1 year after diagnosis, and it made me so much worse so fast. It took almost two years to get IBD managed after that episode.

I can empathize. Struggled with sinus infections a lot over the years.

Have had nausea and D with doxy. Can't tolerate it.

Augmentin reactions led us to conclude I'm allergic to all forms of penicillin.

I do all I can preventatively (nasal rinse, etc), because of no good antibiotics for me....

Contentproof, have you ever had a chronic sinus infection? If so how did you treat it without antibiotics? Any ideas would help lol

I took doxycycline for a rash prior to being diagnosed with IBD
it caused severe "tummy troubles" for me but we didnt know at the time I had IBD

I dont advise going to a minute clinic to get a med your doc thinks isnt safe for you

having ibd already increases likelihood of bone issues
