My symptoms are in control since I started Humira four months ago. However I feel stiffness and pain on my knees and ankles for past 6 months. What kind of doctor I have to go to? I am keep visiting my primary care and she keeps saying that nothing is wrong with me. Please help! I have an appointment to see new primary care, but not until November. My insurance does not require referral. I am scared that I will not be bale to walk in future.

I have read posts that suggest seeing a rheumatologist for joint problems. Why is your primary doctor involved and not your GI? Your GI would be more familiar with Humira symptoms.

Glad to hear that you're doing well uc symptom wise on humira. Joint pains are one of the most common extra-intestinal compliants of ulcerative colitis patients. The CCFA has a food info sheet on it: www.ccfa.org/assets/pdfs/arthritiscomplications.pdf

Did your primary do X-rays? If so and if nothing showed up, your next doc would be a rheumatologist. A rheumy should be able to help determine the cause of your joint stiffness and pain.

My PCP does not do anything and that is the reason I am in a process of finding a new PCP. She is no help at all. Seems like I have no joint issue. I can bend my knee OK. But it hurts going up and down the stairs. I felt heaviness in my fingures last night too. I will make appointment with Rheumatologist. This is going on before I started Humira, so Humira has nothing to do with it. Thank You!

Yes, UC diagnosis was May, 2014. Blepharitis in August, 2014. Small Fiber Neuropathy in Jan, 2015. Now heaviness and stiffness for last 6 months. Do not know when it is going to stop....
