After three recurrent bouts of c-diff which really inflamed my pancolitis, I just today had my first fecal transplant via NG tube! At the moment, I've been weaned off IV hydrocortisone and I am on 40mg pred since Monday!

Have been in hosp for the last 8 weeks! Hoping to be let home this weekend! I'll keep you all posted on any updates or results! If anyone has any experience with FMT please share :-)

Home fecal transplant in 2011 gave remission to DD to this day..
We did FT for c.diff but more intended towards UC...

Hope FT helps your UC too..

NG Tube!... awesome.... I;m sure a few are going to want to hear updates based on that. Hopefully you find some dramatic success.

Question - How many NG transplants do they have planned for you?

Canada--my hospital roomies mom had an NG FT at NOrth York general after recurrent c-diff. Worked almost immediately.

Hi All,

Very early update. I have only been to the loo twice since the fecal transplant! That's twice in say 18 hours! Just now, I did the best looking, best smelling BM I've had since June! It's still far from perfect but there is actual formation and healthy smell!! I'm so excited I'm in tears! I only wish I could do another transplant today!

They inserted the NG tube fairly easily without much discomfort down into my small intestine and then X-Rayed me to ensure it was in the right position. I then sat on the bed at at 45 degree angle whilst the 150ml transplant was inserted over 1.5 hours - flushing it through with saline every 50ml. I smelt or saw nothing of it it as it was all concealed in the tube. Two hours later they removed the NG tube and I was allowed to eat again having fasted for the day.

Right now, it's only a once-off FMT but my doctor said we can do it all again if needs be! I'm in Ireland so it's free. Ideally I'd have two or three over a period of time but I'll see how I get on with this! For the first time in four months I'm feeling hopeful and positive! Very early days to get my hopes up but it's a nice feeling to have for a change !

Currently down to 3 BMs per day from 12+. I am on 40mg pred which will be helping that too. Seeing small improvements daily with urgency and formation. Had my first formed stool today since June. Being retested for c-diff on Tuesday so hopefully it comes back negative and I can concentrate on getting back into remission and leave that awful infection behind me. Having lots of probiotic yoghurts and taking over 120billion in capsule form per day.
