thanks B ! maybe my brain is malfunctioning again, but to be honest, this seems like a walk in the cake compared to dealing with UC ! but i'll try to post some gory pics if i can smile

I recently just got off pradaxa a blood thinner. It didn't seem to have an effect on my uc at all. Anyway, good luck, and well wishes.

Very best wishes that it is a breeze. I will be following your reports as my valve is a bit sticky but no replacement mentioned. If it were me I'd bring VSL#3 with me to help my gut stay calm.

The only thing I can add is that if you do get a room you have to share that you try to get the "A" bed closer to the door and to the bathroom (I'm assuming it's the same everywhere). I've been in both "A" and "B" beds and while it may be a bit quieter in a B bed, you're more visible to staff in the A bed and closer to the bathroom without having to go through your roommate's space. Sending you prayers and best wishes!

Good luck soy, i hope they get your ticker straightened out quickly with as little hassel as is possible. Heart's kinda important, unlike a large intestine which we can easily do without (as some here can attest). I know nothing about the circulatory system, so can offer nothing helpful but well wishes smile

Soy, Hope your surgery went well and you are on your way to good recovery. smile I've been in both Swedish and UW and the food choices are very limited. Can't even get real eggs unless they're hard boiled otherwise it's bagged eggs with all the gross additives. My experience has been UW is a much better hospital than Swedish. But for heart related surgeries Viginia Mason is the very best. My dad had heart surgery there over twenty five years ago and he's still doing great even tho he never stopped smoking. Go figure lol. Hope we hear from you soon.

thanks everyone ! 5.5 days post op - so far so good - every day is better than the previous one, but still feeling like a really big building fell on me -

uc has been cooperating reasonably well - mostly just funky from meds ---- and meds and more flippin meds !!!!

getting booted today but not sure if home is on the horizon - winter storm issues are creating traveling challenges on the pass I need to cross - sooooooo, we'll see ???

Thanks for the good update. Take care of yourself, sleep is your friend. It also takes time for the anesthesia to leave your body. It took me about a month before my appetite came back and I had to nap every day, I think it was from the anesthesia. Walking does help your body recover.
