It's been a little while since I've posted on here, and I'm sure there are other posts about
this, but I always appreciate the moral support from others on the forum. I'm wondering if it's possible, and if so if anyone has any tips to prevent a full on flare from happening?
I was going through some bad flares in 2014 but have slowly went into a full remission - for a while I had no symptoms buy my doctor was concerned about
elevated calprotectin. about
a year ago they went down to normal. I haven't seen my doctor that I really like because of insurance issues, but I've felt great until the past few weeks.
Last year I had a bad/stressful year and was surprised that I stayed in good health. I started a new job this year that I really like so far, and was feeling very good. But the last week or two I've noticed some subtle changes. I thought perhaps it was the stress of the new job and also commuting (I used to work at home), sleeping less, different eating habits, etc. Today sadly I had to run to the bathroom at work and saw blood
For a while I have been on 2x Lialda and that's all. I plan to bump up to 4x Lialda and Rowasa as well. It's been a while since I've been strict with my diet so I kind of forget what I used to do. I just stocked up on some fish, veggies to cook (especially steamed spinach), ingredients to make a plain soup, avocado and yogurt. For some reason I feel like more mushy foods are better. I also got some fermented sauerkraut and ingredients to make turmeric Golden Milk.
Does all of this sound crazy? Any tips or insight/experiences would be greatly appreciated. I am so happy to have finally found a good job, I really don't want to have to take weeks off and tell my team that I have UC because of a flare.
