Every case of UC is different in what medications are necessary. I'd recommend trying lialda and rowasa for 3 weeks, if there's no big improvement then I'd add immunomodulators without much delay. It's all about quality of life with chronic illness, and you don't want to suffer needlessly (give things a fair try but be realistic). Some of us ultimately need strong meds to control our uc symptoms and have the best quality of life.
