Of all the indignities of UC...sticking things in your bum in the bathroom so your husband doesn't see, sharting, constipation, gas what did I just do!??!

I LEFT MY COLONOSCOPY RESULTS & PICTURES On the copier at work. FOR LIKE 2 HOURS.

The secretary just handed them to me "I think that maybe these might be yours..."

I can sufficiently say that is the most embarrassing thing to date that has happened regarding this disease! smile Hahahaha. Good thing I have NO SHAME LEFT!

Oh, MissStacy, thanks for sharing that! For sure we are all embarrassed about enemas, frequent rushing to bathroom, etc. etc. but you made me smile (sorry) and yes, that definitely takes the prize for embarrassing moment! Hopefully your colleagues are wonderful people with a great sense of humor smile

Hmm my most embarassing thing is probably that i crapped myself at work on two different days. Fortunately, I was able to UC-ninja it, had a change of clothes and cleaned up in the bathroom. I don't believe anyone found out lol.

Ugh that's is tough! I agree crapping yourself st work is pretty pretty far up there.. It's difficult if your coworkers don't know. I find that pics fascinating- I usually am like hey, who wants to see!

Just gotta remember that it's just a bodily function. Can't help it. You'd be surprised how many people at your work have prob had that procedure done.

As for the privacy and embarrassment at home- I usually ask my fiancé to knock if I have to do an enema while laying in bed, etc. he's pretty respectful.

I've had to crap in a trash can in the office while my fiancé was in the bathroom- he was trying to rush but my stuff just came on too quick, and we only have one rest room.

So yea....sorry hat happened to you.

ha no going to a new OB GYNE tomorrow and copied all my recent tests including blood. Colonoscopy right on top! ;)

Oh my! I was flaring at work really badly, horrible gas of course. The bathrooms are single which is nice but right on the hallway. Tried to run water to cover up the noise but apparently it didn't work because when I came out a co worker looked at me, blinked and asked why I had Godzilla in there with me *facepalm*

DW was horrified to see me crapping in a kitchen trashcan once, she had just told me: hold on a sec, almost done in the bathroom. Now she truly understands UC urgency. Right now doesn't mean you've got a few more minutes to finish up devil

Next house will have two toilets, no exception.

Last summer while doing some tourist shopping out of leftfield had to go NOW, went running to public stalls and a little kid was in there with his Grandma, I flushed trying to muffle some of the sound but it was the loudest noise I have ever ever made, little kid "grandma what was that noise" grandma "I think a pipe broke or something"

Okay that reminds me of an incident from my childhood. I might have shared this on the board before, so apologies if it's repetitive.

My family was at a casual restaurant. Both my dad and my brother went to the washroom. These were bathrooms with stalls only. My dad finished up, washed his hands, and waited for my brother still in a stall. My brother apparently had a ton of gas! Kept going and going...! My dad was a bit concerned but didn't want to embarrass my brother, so said mildly "Hmm. Kind of noisy in there". No response, but the gas continued. My dad spoke louder this time and repeated "Kind of noisy in there!". A unintelligible response came something like "Grr argggh mumble mumble". It was enough for my dad to realize -- that was NOT my brother!!! He quickly scooted out of there and sure enough, my brother was already back at the table!!!!

That poor man in the stall. I wonder now if he had UC.

miss stacy, Thanks for sharing! I've been through some embarrassing things myself and can understand why you'd be embarrassed. I haven't heard that one before.

You have to have a sense of humor with this disease otherwise you'll end getting stuck in deep crap! smile

Not strictly UC-related, but I hired a boat overnight for my my (now ex) partner's birthday, where you get taken out, left and then picked up around lunchtime the next day. So my partner and I had a late night with plenty of drinks, food, more drinks, music etc. and then the toilet clogged on the toilet paper..so we couldn't use it..which was fine until we both woke up the next morning and needed to go - he went first because I was embarrassed, and then threw it overboard expecting it to sink lol, but instead it just broke up and surrounded the boat. Then I had to go - same thing - so here we were on this million dollar boat for his birthday crapping into a bucket and the being surrounded by it!
