red facial rash

Dear All, I've been getting itchy red rashes on my face that last a few days. They are mostly around my eyes. Any link to UC? Best wishes, Teacher

possibly UC or the meds - or your new socks -

lovely springtime allergies ?

having an affliction like UC can bring about systemic changes to our body that can manifest in different ways, making us susceptible to things that weren't an issue before - really hard to tell sometimes -

We're much more prone to skin rashes than the general population due to our UC. We can get eczema, psoriasis, contact-dermatitis, and have persistent, dry itchy skin.

Can you describe the rash more (shape, color, does it have any elevation to it)?

Remind us which meds you take for UC?

Is the facial-rash a butterfly shape (a lupus-rash)?

Ir might be good to see a dermatologist.

The region around my eyes (eyelids & below) and the cheeks seem swollen and red. It's also itchy.

Does it goes across the bridge of the nose as well as the cheaks? See the lupus / Rosacea rash on a google image search and see if it looks similar.

Any changes in your soaps, body washes, laundry detergent, or other products that go on your face (contact-dermatitis)?

I'll mention that i had a SEVERE sun-allergic reaction to a medication this last summer that was AWFUL! That type of rash apparently is more common on the arms and trunk, but it itches like HELL and nothing helps. So also be sure to check all your meds to see if they have any sort of sun sensitivity reaction.

I've had a rash on forehead and sides of face and under eyes for about a year. Wasn't on anything for most of that time in remission, but I have a dermatologist appt in May. I think mine is just more autoimmune fun from having a leaky gut.
