Hi all, i am currently on canasa for a flare. It has helped a great deal but i nitice since being on it my bowel movemens have been thin stools and not alot. Does that happen to anyone else that has taken it? Also can it cause minor cramping?

It's because you are flaring....store those symptoms to memory. It's not the canasa.
I dont think you're on enough rectal medication, however, the retention enemas would give you better coverage and higher dosge.
Is your gi planning to do a c-scope eventually?

Not sure. I see her in 2 weeks. I was originally on uceris pill, canasa and balsalizide. I got off the canasa once i stopped it my bowel movements were great for a couple days a few days after stoping it i started getting my symptoms back. I also started having a lot of bad side effects from the balsalazide so she took me off of it so right now i am currently on the uceris pill and canasa.

Thin, pencil-wide stools mean you have severe rectal inflammation. Inflammation thickens the walls of our intestines leaving less internal diameter for our stool to pass through, thus narrower stools.
Cramping is often due to inflammation and trapped gas.

So glad I found this post! I was just diagnosed this week with ulcerative proctitis after a colonoscopy. Today was my first time using Canasa, and I had a small bowel movement about
four hours later. There was white goo all over my poo, and I wasn't sure if it was just mucus or unabsorbed suppository. What happens when y'all go? There's been lots of mucus in my poo before, but usually it's clear or bloody, not white or milky.

annamarie772 its the left over suppository probably. I have the same thing often when using canasa. sort of gray white coating.

Yes, I think the white goo is the waxy coating on the suppository. Quite normal. (or I see it every time i use a Canasa anyway.)
