Bromelain is a great enzyme and anti-inflammation supplement. However it is a fructan and many people with IBS/IBD don't handle fructose/fructans well. So I would stay away from it while in a flare. If you handle fruits like pinnaple well when not in a flare than using bromelain makes sense.
What do you mean Bromelain is a fructan? Bromelain is an enzyme made of amino acids, not fructose molecules.
