Thanks for letting me know. Kind of scary how it was working for you for so long only for it to stop. I don't know why that happens but I'm glad you're doing better now.
The last few days have been the best I've been in months. The disease is up and down, but I have to say that I am wondering if the sulfasalazine is finally taking hold. I did also try a little bit of CBD oil for a couple of days at around the same time. I have no idea if it influenced things but even if it was a placebo effect it wouldn't be a problem, since if the inflammation is less then meds are going to find it much easier to maintain it.
I am also finally managing to get off the steroid enemas, it seems. Again, very very early days with all this, but for the first time in months I missed two days of the steroid enema, so the last two I've done three days apart. And now, 3 bowel movements, the first along with the enema from the night before. Much more formed (well, formed at all is a great bonus!)...my body still wants to get it out pretty fast, I guess due to a degree of inflammation in the rectum at the very least and I expect there is still inflammation around the colon, but it may well be significantly less, if the symptoms have changed this much. For me that's real progress and obviously if this trend continues then I will be doing very well indeed! I really hope it does, though of course we're always ready for UC to do its unpredictable thing if it has to ...
It's a shame that this disease is not straightforward and linear, the downside is obviously that when things get better you wonder if it's more of a fluke than a trend, but the upside is that sometimes when things get worse you wonder the same thing!
