Does this sound like UC?

Hi all, just got some concerns and need some information from those in the know. Apologies, gory details following:

about 6 days ago, I had a very large bowel motion that was hard at the tip, and very soft behind, and mixed in with the poop was what seemed like a lot of Maroon blood (It was also streaking the surface of the hard poop) I'd had absolutely no symptoms before, but since that BM, I've felt a little off around my bowls, kind of crampy, gurgling, bloaty, feeling hungry just after a meal, etc. Also, very mild stiffness around my sides / back. I've booked in for a colonoscopy, and have had another couple of soft, bloody (Bright red) BM's since then, but I don't know if the softness comes from and infection or stress.

There's been a couple of times I've felt an urgency to head to the closest bathroom, but no real diarrhea. Everything I've been reading about UC makes it sound like theres no limit to the ways it can present, sometimes pain, sometimes almost nothing, and I do have a history of IBS and weird feelings around my bowels through my life, but never with such obvious physical symptoms.

Is this sounding like a familiar experience to anyone?

Possible. Blood in stool is a good reason to investigate IBD like UC. Before diagnosis, I had lots of blood in my toilet water after each bm, looked like a csi murder scene. There's infectious-colitis, c diff and many other explanations. Get a stool test for pathogenic causes, get a colonoscopy with biopsies and wait for the results. UC always has permanent architectual changes to your intestinal cells, it's not a one time thing, rather chronic in nature.
