Can a colonoscopy (w/ biopsy) bring on a flare?

Hey guys, simple question here. I'm always nervous about colonoscopies (w/ biopsies) because of the risk of perforation but I recently heard that some people claim they CAUSE flair ups. I was wondering how rare this was, and hoping it was just something coincidental. I have one scheduled soon, so if you guys can help me out...

What are your experiences with this?

I was in remission for a long time, about a year and a half, and then I had a colonoscopy and I started to flare about a month afterward I think. But, around the same time I had numerous skin prick tests done on my back for allergies and I have a feeling it was a combination of the two that triggered the flare, not sure, but that's my story.

my initial diagnostic flare was severely worsened by biopsy - but i was already in an extreme, extreme flare. if you're not already actively extremely sick, i don't think you have too much to worry about. good luck!!!
