Side effects of Humira?

Hello-

Just wondering for those of you that have tried Humira...did you experience and joint pain? I have been on it for about 5 months. It is working wonderfully, but lately (the past week) I am feeling slight joint pain from time to time. It started in my hands and I can feel it in my right elbow and and my right knee. It is very subtle. I wouldn't even call it pain, but more like a sensation. I postponed taking this drug as long as I could because I was petrified of the side effects. Now I am just a little worried, but my UC is in complete remission! If it's not one thing it's another. I have an appt. on Friday with my doc, but I am curious if anyone else has any advice. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

I was on it for 3 months and had other side effects. Discuss it with your doc as you are planning; in my experience one med can be a miracle drug and another not so much. I returned to remicade because humira was not a good drug for me. Good luck!

It's possible it's joint pains from humira and it's possible it isn't from humira at all.

Joint aches are more common with biologics when we have developed antibodies to them. You can ask your gasteroenterologist for an antibody test for humira, i know Prometheus labs offers a test for it: Anser ADA bloodtest. /www.prometheuslabs.com/Products/Default.aspx

Okay.. even if I am stilll doing really well and in remission? You think I could be already developing antibodies after 5 months?
