OMG! Thank you MarjieKay! I have been wondering what was going on with me -- my headaches have been *really* bad for the past month. I've had migraine issues for several years now, but these headaches have been different. Usually I have to take migraine medications maybe twice a month... but they've increased to almost daily. My migraine meds haven't been working, or if they do, only for a few hours and then the headache has come back. And instead of the headache centering on my right neck and temple, they've been on my forehead and top of head. My neurologist put me on a course of prednisone for a week (tapering daily) and that worked, but the day after that was done, the headache returned. It was of course on the weekend and we were out of town so out of desperation I tried a cold/sinus medication, knowing that sometimes these can knock out headaches (not that they've ever worked for me, before). Lo and behold, it did work. That was about
two weeks ago and I've had to take the cold/sinus medication constantly to keep the headache from returning. I was unsure whether to see my neurologist or ask for a referral to a ENT specialist. This is so interesting! I wondered if it haad something to do with UC or with the medication ... I mean, it makes sense, if UC affects the mucus membranes in our guts, why wouldn't it also affect our sinuses?
Edited to add: this is a new issue for me, btw. Never had chronic sinus problems before this, not beyond the norm, anyway. Although I did take antibiotics for one a couple of years back.
