I'll barge into this discussion and remind everyone that the *ONLY* medications that have ever worked for my Ulcerative Colitis are Vancomycin and Augmentin.
Mayo Clinic is baffled, because I test negative for everything, but they can't argue with the results.
Antibiotic response = bacterial cause
This is super simple, and it makes me unbelievably angry that so many people label UC a purely autoimmune disease just because they are only comfortable thinking inside the box of conventional theory. (Which, wouldn't you know, has never resulted in a cure for UC.) Guess what? If removing the bacteria resolves the issue, that means your immune system wasn't attacking your body, it was attacking THE BACTERIA..
I'm definitely going to get tested for MAP.
