Behind tailbone pressure/pain

Hi,

if you have inflamation in rectum you have also pressure or mild pain behind tailbone? Its not tailbone pain as bone but behind so probably rectum. I m afraid if it is not something serious.

Do you have inflammation in the rectum? A diagnosis of ulcerative proctitis? Ulcers? Fissure?

It is not possible to make any informed comment on a single report of pain.

Yes I have inflamation in rectum too, dg morbus crohn but also in rectum. Ulcers are here, but I have this dg longtime and never had simillar feeling. Im longterm on steroids because other not working or I had big side effects.

Could be an abscess. If so the pain will continue to get worse.

I get pain in my sacrum when I am flaring for sure. Usually as I am feeling better the pain goes away, usually when it comes back it is because I am about to flare.

it could be an abscess, but it could also just be the inflammation has a different pain feel this time.

besides an abscess, what "more serious" things are you worried about?

Momto2boys, yes I having here pains too but it is in bones not behind

DBwithUC so from pure inflammarion is possibe feeling similar like this? My big worry is about cancer, these symptoms with our diseases are very simillar and this one is for me new. I searched whole network and didnt found something similar, there are UC, MC, Ibs and cancers which pain in tailbone in bone not behind so I dont know.

The odds of you having cancer are incredibly small, so try not to worry about the most unlikely things that could occur.

Our colorectal cancer odds do not increase until we've had UC at least 10 years and then it is only a very small odd increase. Ultimately only 3% of UC patients get CRC. The odds are the highest for those who've had UC for many decades, and who've had pancolitis (whole large intestine involvement) with severe inflammation. Unless that is you, then there's no need to worry.

Yes inflammation can cause all sorts of pains. I've had very sharp stabbing pains as a result of a UC flare.

Is the pain within a joint? We're prone to joint pains as an extra-intestinal complication of UC. Here's additional information on it.

iPoop yes I have also joint pains but this I have for years, this one is different and it is painfull few hours or day then one day no and then again. I have it nearly two weeks. You had this sharp pain in tailbone region?

Definitely go to your GI and ask for a quick in-office rectoscope look-see.

There are many possibilities, but rectal inflammation flaring can feel like that.

Are you using rectal meds?

I get tailbone pain only when I sit, my family DR did x-ray and told me nothing serious and to use donut seat. It started about a year ago and am not using donut. Hope it will not get worse.

Quincy, no I dont using rectal meds I taking long time steroids because other dont work or I had bad side effects. Else taking pentasa but this is for me like nothing. I have MC and I have inflammations in colon and also in small bowell.

UCmas in bone or behind bone?

Yes I had a perianal abscess, top of anus. At first it felt like normal inflammation but the pain increased over the course of 4 days until it was no longer bearable. At that point, there was a lump, similar to a very large pimple that hurt to the touch.

I had pain in my tailbone for months and months and then when my ankle swelled up like an elephants foot I went and saw a Rheumatologist where I found out I had Spondyloarthropathy. Not wanting to scare you but you should go and get checked because some people with IBD, unfortunately, have problems with arthritis.

Poppie sorry to hear, what helped on this? Any medication?

Yeah, I was put on Methotrexate which worked for nearly a year, but I to stop it as I started to react badly to it. Anyway, I am now on Humira which hopefully should work for both..time will tell as I have only been taking it for about 7 weeks.
