Hi,
First, thank you for being a consistent resource through the last couple of years since my diagnosis. I have only posted a couple of times, but I do read other posts and find them very helpful.
I was diagnosed with UC after the birth of my first child in 2011. My symptoms at the time essentially went into remission, and it didn't flare again until after my miscarriage in 2012, and then again after the birth of my daughter in 2014. I have managed the disease since her birth with a combination of suppositories and Rowasa enemas. (Initially disease was only in the rectum, but then progressed into the sigmoid).
Much to my surprise, I found out this morning that I'm pregnant. This was not planned, and I am feeling pretty nervous. I never was on medication during either of my previous pregnancies as I seem to go into remission during the pregnancy. However, I take the suppositories nightly right now, and I am assuming I'll need to continue this throughout this pregnancy. I was wondering if anyone out there could share their experiences being pregnant withUC, and if you have any advice or tips for me. I really appreciate it! I'll be making an appt with my Gastro on Monday, but I would also love to hear how other women have handled pregnancy with UC.
Thanks so much!
