Upper endo and c-scope tomorrow

Never had an upper done....and I'm ticked I won't be awake for the c-scope to watch the monitor...grrr.

Just starting the purging part of the gallon prep...😯


The only complaint at this point is that I'm super cold from drinking half the gallon.

The nice part of the scope will be that it's at 9 30 instead of 1 00 as was the past 2 times.

That was a fast 2 years since the last one....sheesh.

I finally warmed up around 4 AM, but restless sleep. Funny thing is that I start to sleep much better once the alarm goes off...haha. i feel normal now except sort of hungry but not bad.

I had discomfort that started in the centre of my chest and radiated into my throat....kind of like an inner alien twisting and pulling. My previous GI assumed it to be esophageal spasming. It happened only once in a blue moon that I forgot to mention it to my GP or my new GI until this Spring, but since it happened a few times close to that appointment, I mentioned it.
He sent me for a swallow test, a stress test (high blood pressure and the cardiologist freaked at the 230/95, so now I'm on additional meds....but nothing heart related), and now the upper endo. The Gi thought it would be convenient to have both, to today is the day.

Hope all goes well today. I had an upper endo done several years ago. Of course you're asleep so you don't know anything about it, but I had no problems post-procedure (no ridiculous gas to get rid of like the colon).

Hi Songlady....thought of you when I was in recovery! Hey, your family does intersting stuff togetherl! Nice regarding transport at one time, lol

All went well....my doc gives versed and Fentanyl. I was asleep the the upper but was in and out during the scope. I felt lots of gas pains and asked for more juice,...i was resigned to being asleep and knew I'd get pics.

Colon, he says....awesome. cecum, transverse, etc...all perfe t. I see really mild vascular lines at the lower rectum, but mostly just nice flesh colour.
No pseudo polyps this time, and he took around 30 biopsies.

The upper.....well, shows candida, which doesn't surprise me considering I feel something since I started on a new asthma med Breo. My voice is very rough and cuts out, and I had a really bad sinus thing for 6 weeks and was 2 rounds of antibiotics. He took biopsies and will put me on antifungal depending on results. But I do have Nystatin and will use that for now.

I also have a diverticula just into the duodenum. Not red or wonky....

I also had a polyp removed....but forget where he said, in esophagus, stomach or duodenum. Will have to wait on that one. Darned versed!

In the pic of my stomach, it looks nice and flesh colour, have an area that has brown flecks. Its not spots or look like bleeding. I asked him where and what....he told me, but its gone the same route as the polyp info.

I see my GP on Tues, and the visual observations will be on my file in the same clinic. So I will get a copy of that if I'm able.

It wasn't a bad experience, lots of cramping gas and blood still. I had a great breakfast and will just veg for the rest of the afternoon.

Gosh that all sounds awful, but at least you are now at home and resting.

It's good that they caught the candida as that can spread and become systemic causing other problems.

Definitely had a good sleep today, but still feeling cold, weird. I'm eating no problem tho..lol.

Asthma, tried a new med with the suggestion and sample from my doc. Feel good on it, one dose, once a day..... but not good feeling in my throat, gravelly voice, etc. Obviously, added fun down the esophagus...

It has a long lasting bronchodilator......so thought to try it for a bit (so far, 4 months, but I doubt i will stick with it.

I'm waiting for the results. In the meantime , I'm using Nistatin topical oral and Caproil.
