Curious about a small symptom.

I never thought to ask about this because it's had been long time since I encountered it the last time. Sometimes, during flares, when I feel the need to go to toilet, I start salivatin more than usual and I get a weird taste. Rather hard to explain, it's like nausea but it's in my mouth, I hate it, makes me feel really werid. Is it something only I encounter? If not, why does it happen, can I do anything to prevent it?

Kind of, yes. The thing is, ever since I was diagnosed, I've never been out of my original flare I think. darn thing never stopped, I always supressed the disease with prednisolone. When I weaned off of it, it came back shortly after. This symptom was always present when I was bleeding like hell and going to toilet 10-15 times a day. It was last one to show. Now, I am nearing the end of my first month on LDN and I stopped taking pred around two weeks ago, only using mesalamines. LDN stopped my bleeding and is controlling the UC to a degree but since it's not a complete remission, I am going to toilet more than usual. I am trying different doses, trying to find which one is optimum. So it's not a full-blown flare but this symptom came back so I was reminded of it. Thought to ask here. I wonder what exactly is it or if anybody else has it.
