I thought the reference to the double blind study on cannabis use in IBD patients was interesting; how can the smell and especially the mood-altering effect of cannabis be made "blind?"

A cannabis study can be double blind because many people use the edibles, which are no different than taking any other med.

Yes it has helped me alot.

From 2015 all the way through till mid 2017 I was in and out of flares, small flares every other month.

I quit smoking mid 2015 and late 2015 i had the worst flare I ever had. Scope showed inflammation in my rectum and ascending colon (I have crohns/colitis) i couldn't figure out what I did different and why my flare was so bad (had colitis since 09) I did get better with prednisone but like I said in and out of flares cause I only used pentasa (I hate the heavy duty meds and the possible side effects)

So in June this year I thought stuff this I need to smoke to relax i smoked abit and it did help but it wasn't till I went to Nimbin (I'm in Australia) and in Nimbin they sell medical cannabis oil which is not legal but the law turns a blind eye cause it actually helps people, after 1 month i felt good. Since June till now the only time I had a hiccup was when i had my scope (the day after) I noticed a spot of blood in my stool but that could of been the scope itself.

Scope showed 3cm of inflammation in my rectum and that was it.

Now in saying this i don't condemn smoking or using cannabis products I'm simply answering your question.

CBD without the THC compound is useless. Take it from me. It did NOTHING.

It wasn't till I got my hands on a pure cannabis oil with both thc and CBD thats when i noticed the difference.

3 drops under my tongue daily, I even get a little buzz lol

And from time to time I smoke at nights and go put on a movie, relax and sleep.

I had other problems with it, but yeah it helped
I used it during remmision/ end of a flare
and it helped me eat, it made me less sad about the condition, and it helped stop the pain a bit. You should try it. Here in illinois UC is on the medical marajuana list, so maybe in your state you can get it prescribed.

I used to be extremely anti-marijuana, but after the severe pain I was in last week and my gastroenterologist refusing to give me pain medicine, I started researching if marijuana helps UC. I have not used it, but if I am in severe pain again, and no doctors will give me pain medicine, I may have to drive to another state and see if I can get a script for it!

So after years of being against Marijuana myself, I got my card a few months ago. I live in PA and finally went to the dispensary this weekend. I tried the high CBD to THC ratio which didn't feel like much. Then I tried the Indica all via Vape (which made me choke btw). The Indica has more THC and I felt kind of high but more fuzzy headed than anything. The pain was certainly relieved and I slept very well last night. I have another strain -Sativa which is supposed to be more uplifting but have not tried it yet. Overall I don't really like the fuzzy head- high feeling but I felt fine this morning with no hangover feelings or anything like that. I will use it again for sleep and colon relaxation.

I'm a big proponent of making it legalized for anyone.

I tried it many many times and it didn't work for me. So I hate that it doesn't work for me, but hope it helps others.

I tried the flower, edibles, tinctures, vapes, you name it.. high CBD, low CBD, high THC, low THC.. nada.

I think I'm one of those 'stone cold sober' types and the only thing that seems to work are pharmaceuticals.
