Hi Ladies - does anyone here take birth control pills and azathioprine? Has it been effective in preventing pregnancy for you?

what type of BC pills do you take if you do?

Edit//also what about the shot? anyone get it while taking imuran? does it work?

I was Imuran for about 2 years, and it didn't affect my BC. I was, and still am, on Alesse.

great thanks! I used to take a generic of that about 4-5 years ago - so good to know!

Hiya I've been on azathioprine and birth control. I used the pill and later the nuvaring. Didn't get pregnant. Now I'm having a copper iud.

There's no interactions between azathioprine and birth-control that I am aware of. Very different treatments with very different things target by each that share no common pathway.
