So, my chemo consists of 2 drugs, the one they infuse there and the one I take home which infuses over 46 hours. I don't really know yet which one causes what, but I did end up with 3 days of needing to be a couch potato because of queasiness and fevers. (Queasiness even after taking the home anti-nausea meds, sigh.) And my mouth hurt so much it hurt to talk, much less eat! All of this has eased in the last few days. And none of it was horribly dramatic; just a bummer, since I had started to feel so good in regard to surgical recovery.
So, I am keeping track of my side effects, as they'd requested, and will report them, so maybe they can address some of these things next dose.
I've had increased matter coming from my rear, including some blood, and just yesterday I saw that was on the list of "CALL US!" side effects. Oops. It's about stopped now, and given the blood loss I've experienced over the UC years, it really has not been an alarming amount! And frankly, I think I may have popped a terribly painful external hemmie. I believe I've had a preview of the famous Butt Burn. Yeouch! I am now the proud owner of TWO portable bidets, one for each floor of the house, and also two tubes of calmoseptine. Things are improving. It does seem a little unfair to have the challenge of this loop ileo and also the bathroom urgency of liquidy matter!
Thanks for listening! I needed to vent. Keeping my eye on the prize.... all should be well by end of summer.
I hope your treatments go quickly without too much discomfort. Hang in there!!
