HUMIRA

Been UC patient 30 yrs. been on imuran for last 10yrs and got my life back. It did take 3 steriod cycles along with it over a 2.5yr period.
Just got told by my dr. that i have a choice to go on humira or stay on imuran but that long term imuran has a better chance for me to get lymphoma.
Going to China this summer and i'm then going to go on humira is their anyone that can give me some insight on what i should expect.
I will be weened off imuran and on humira over a yrs. time.
Just hate to get off a treatment that enabled me to get just about as normal as one can get after 20yrs. of misery.
I'm 62 so age has aided my dr's. lecture

I have been on Imuran for 6 years and feel fine (no flares in 6 years) although colonoscopy shows I still have some inflammation so my newish doc wants to try changing things, and his first choice is to try Humira. I had Remicade for 6 months, prior to going on Imuran, and it worked well for 3 months and then I got much worse and ended up in the hospital. I can't tell if Humira is more likely to work than Remicade, but with the cost, I have been avoiding it and will instead add Tumeric, VSL#3, and Lialda. While expensive, the VSL#3 and Lialda pale in cost compared to Humira. I wish generic Humira was closer to reality in the US but it appears it's been delayed until 2023?
