Switching from Azathioprine to Humira...

Hi!

I'm currently having problems with fatigue on Azathioprine and thinking of making the switch to Humira.

Just wondering if anyone has been on both medications and knows if Humira is better for fatigue?

I hear Humira is more risky in general but willing to give it a try if it gives my energy (and life) back!

A bunch of people do very well on humira and getting their life back, unfortunately when I took it it just made my fatigue worse! But humira works for a lot of people and sometimes they take humira along with aza. I didn’t have any issues with infections while on humira, I never even got a sinus infection or a cold and it was nice only having to give myself a shot every two weeks, didn’t have to stress about all the pills!

Mak37 - that's great you didn't have infections, I assumed Humira upped the risk of getting one. I'm only on Aza and get a few sinus infections a year.

Thanks iPoop that's interesting to know - I guess being a mod you must see a lot about how meds affect people!

My doc is sceptical about switching as it removes another "backup medication" but I think Humira is inevitable - I'm getting drug side effects and *still* getting mild UC symptoms - the worst of both worlds!
