All loops are weird and different from an end ileo. They actually have a dome shape, and 2 outputs. One output comes down from the top, and another goes down to the pouch. Mine was always pointing in a weird/bad direction, because the dome shape doesn't lend well to it functioning in a way that you would want it to. The end is like a funnel that points one end into a pouch. So much better!!

If you can put it on in a way that it helps to push the stoma out and down, it should help, but sometimes seeing an ostomy nurse is the most helpful for finding a solution to these issues. The loop is temporary at least. Are you having step 2 in a month or so?
