Not sure if it's right forum to post but since I've UC, I think someone else might have had similar experience.
about
day and a half ago I developed unbearable pain in my ass after some straining with bowel movement (right inside in the anal canal and a bit outside). This followed with swollen lymph nodes in the groin and high fever, chills and heart racing of 80+ bpm (my normal is 45-50). This morning the fever has subsided, heart rate is down to 60-65 but lymph nodes in groins are still swollen. The pain in the anus is still so strong that I can't sleep, sit or walk.
If there would not have been fever and swollen lymph nodes, I would think it's a perianal hematoma but now I am a bit concerned could it be abscess. Has anyone had similar reaction to hematoma?
Also the situation is not that clear since my wife just got terrible case of flu couple days ago and so at first I thought I got it from her. But I don't have sore throat, no runny nose, so it makes no sense.
Currently there are national holidays and I can't get visit to doctor today or tomorrow. The only option would be to go to ER but I really don't want that.
What are your thoughts, could it be hematoma that caused fever and swollen lymph glands?

I'd see a doctor and have them check it out as soon as they are back from holiday. Do they have an on-call doctor? Often there will be one. In case of emergency call doctor so and so and XYZ number or whatever.

Chiron just had an abscess and said it was incredibly painful.

In reality, I agree with iPoop, you can't figure anything out without being seen. It could be many things.

Thanks iPoop, I called today all the clinics I could but noone works. Even ER have no proctologist on place. I found a clinic that said I could go and they will try to look at me tomorrow.
Basically all day I am lying in bed with low grade fever and a bit swollen lymph nodes in the groin. Anal pain is unbearable and seems that haven't changed a lot. My wife was able to check me and said she doesn't see anything visually different on the outside though I can feel that one area is a bit stiff and painful. I also examined a bit of an inside and feel that the most painful part is around 1/2-1 inch inside the rectum on the rectal wall. Its stiff and extremely painful. So in the end might that be some kind of superpainful hemarrhoid?

When I had an abscess it was a constant pain that steadily worsened over the course of 4 days. Eventually there was a small marble sized bump that was so sensitive, I almost jumped across the room when my GI touched it. Could barely walk into the surgeons office. The pain you are describing sounds similar. My experiences with hemorrhoids was that they either protrude and are obvious, or they have been oblong if swollen below the skin. I would suggest a colorectal surgeon if you can find one. I also recommend the hottest baths you can stand. SCALDING hot.

Charlie, yes I have constant pain that seems not to change or even has become stronger today. It's my second day and at this point I literally can't do anything except for lying in bed and it still hurts as hell. I can feel one exact point which seems to be extremely painful but visually it can't be distinguished from normal skin all around. Nothing helps, ointment with lydocaine has no effect on pain whatsoever. I am not sure if having a hot bath is good before I know whats there.

I can't see how a bath would hurt, but it is your body. Clean the tub with bleach if you are concerned about
infection. If it is an abscess, it may help soften the skin and bring it to the surface. Epsom salts in the water may help as well. A hot bath was the only relief I got from mine. You can run a course of tylenol and ibuprofen at the same time, if you are not afraid of NSAIDS. I use them sporadically and have not had any issues.
Good luck. If it is an abscess, the surgery hurts but is quick and an instant relief when finished.

The pain became unbearable in the evening and I went to the ER. They almost instantly said it's paraproctitis. I was given promedol for pain and a combo of antibiotics. Perhaps a surgery tomorrow.
