How long does weekly humira take to work?

I am new to this site but been reading for a while.
I've had UC 11 years. Been on oral and topical mesalazine, steroids, azathioprine and a few years ago given remicade during hospital stay for severe flare L sided colitis.
I was switched to fortnightly humira about 3 years ago. Stopped taking it in 3rd trimester pregnancy and had mini flare postpartum and went back on it.
So I've been in remission almost 2 years and went for a surveillance colonoscopy a wek ago. about 2 weeks prior I felt my tummy getting a bit crampy and had what i would call mild symptoms of flare with blood and mucus. My colonoscopy showed moderate pancolitis already! Since then in the last week my symptoms are getting worse every day. A lot of cramping pain, profuse watery diarrhoea, food goes right through me, blood and mucus.
My GI has told me to increase humira to weekly for 6 weeks. Has anyone else had experience of increasing to weekly? And if so how long did it take to work? And did it work? If not what happened next?

We all do eventually flare, the reasons are not always understood. I'd recommend standard flare protocol: getting a stool test for possible infectious causes to your symptoms. Can you get a humira/adalimumab minimum concentration and humira-antibody test? Prometheus Labs invented the test and still offers it for a premium, they call it Anser ADA /www.anserifx.com/. If you do not have enough humira in you, then the dose increase might show results within a few weeks or less. Hard to say, as humira does not directly heal you. Humira stops/lessens the immune attack, and your body must heal on its own, which can be a much slower process than we'd like.

if your drug concentrations are fine, and there's no antibodies then you'd likely need another medication, like pred.

Also, could an infection cause moderate pancolitis visually on colonoscopy?

Ah right I see. Well he took 36 biopsies so they should show whats going on?
Im on weekly humira and asacol mr tabs 6 a day.

I cant take azathioprine because it gave me hepatitis.
The scope showed pancolitis but it was mostly from the splenic flexure to the caecum and not in the rectum. My GI didnt suggest any enemas.

I was on Humira weekly for most of the time that I was on it as my levels were too low.
Cant really say that going weekly really improved things for me.
I was changed over to Entyvio and things have been great ever since.
