C-Diff has been more of a problem since being diagnosed with UC back in 2009.
After having it so many times I can usually tell when I have it. I feel very fatigued and start having cramps and bloating. That's when I called the Dr. and ask them to send a script to the lab for a stool test. Usually able to start Dificid within a week.
Dificid had always worked for me.
Thankfully at my last appointment with my GI she said we are going to do a FMT next time I test positive, that was back in May.
Didn't have to wait too long. I tested positive again on September 2nd.
My FMT is scheduled for Thursday. They are drawing the stool from a bank. The thought of a bank of tested stool in some laboratory cooler just seems odd. And who are the people who donated these? Nevermind, pretty sure I'd rather not know. Ignorance is bliss in this case.
The more interesting thing is, the procedure is going to be done via Endoscopy. Always figured it would be done via colonoscopy.
Dr. Goldstein works at the same office as my Dr., pretty sure he's the one performing the procedure. I know he's done many in the past and totally trust him.
I've seen this topic discussed several times on this forum.
For those who've had it done, how did it go?
Did it stop occurrence of C-Diff?
Did you have any side-effects afterwards?
Thanks.
