One month ago yesterday I had my final surgery. While I never would choose to do that month again (especially the first couple weeks), I have to say that I am really happy with how everything is going.
I’m averaging about
6-8 BM’s a day including one trip at night. My mornings are fantastic. I don’t usually have to make any pit stops until around noon. The evenings are a little more rough. I go every couple hours starting around 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm. I don’t eat after 6:00 pm. That has really with my sleep schedule. The worst part for me continues to be the butt-burn. Although, I would classify mine as a deep intense itch more then a burn. Sometimes it itches so bad, I’m tempted to take a belt sander to it. The bidet and Calmoseptine cream do help, but I wouldn’t mind if this went away soon.
Other then that, life is good. I’m so happy to be back to work, going to my kids soccer games and not even caring how close the nearest bathroom is. Heck, I might even try to eat some salad tonight. To think in a couple months, I could be running and skiing again. Man, I’m in such a different place then I was in last year. So happy!

Sucks about
the butt-burn....is it external or internal?
Good to hear things are going well.

It's nice that you caught a break for a change. Remember to stay hydrated, that is the biggest thing for most j-pouchers.
Try new foods in moderation. I'd eat the salad first and then some regular food that you know that you can tolerate after that to kind of push through the riskier foods like salad.
It's 1:30 and I haven't emptied my pouch since after dinner last night. (maybe 830PM)

I do like success stories. Congrats. I bet the other lingering things will improve over time

Almost 9 weeks for me and I'm getting used to loose stool.Trying to stay away from foods with MSG,breads, grilled chicken are good for me.Some days i just don't care and will eat what i crave.Im a heavy sleeper so eating late could mean accident while sleeping[3x this week],so thats something I'm being careful of.Butt burn u have to stay ahead of,showers 1-2x a day.Life is good

I don’t think the butt burn / itch is internal. I get it the worst when the pouch doesn’t fully empty on the first round and I have to make another trip or two. I think all the action/ cleaning tends to aggravate everything and brings on the demon itch. Some days are definitely better then others.
I did try a bit of salad last night with dinner and I survived. More gas through the night then usual, but that could have been from the lemon bar?

I think you need to get some cream for the itch. When you follow up request Clotrimazole-Betamethasone cream. it works wonders.
