Want to get in contact email with other pilots & professional Pilots about FAA medical and UC. Looking at regionals but have questions on ability to keep medical in future.

My understanding is that having UC makes obtaining and keeping a pilots license difficult, unless you've had a colectomy surgery or have a doctor's note saying you're in a longterm remission. Why do you ask? Have you been having troubles with licensing?

AME’s now are authorized to reissue subsequent medical certificates under an AME- Assisted Special Issuance (AASI). Airline pilots have said they had no time delay in getting class 1 yearly.

I would love to chat with people who have been through holding the class1 or 2 and others who had to transition to a special issuance. Others who work as a CFI and just do a class 2.
