Hi all. I just read my pathology report from my colon removal and this is what it says.

"opening reveals dark tan to focally tan-red, predominantly flattened colonic mucosa with a
finely granular cobblestone pattern which involves the entire colon
extending from the ileocecal valve to distal resection margin".

I was always told I had uc but I looked it up as uc and Crohn's kept coming up do I really have Crohns?

If it involved the entire colon, without clear areas, it sounds like UC.

What part sounded like Crohn's to you?

The whole colon being cobblestone when I look up uc it says Crohn's is cobblestone not uc

I’m not a pathologist but I’d be more worried about patchy sections than cobblestoned.

I have crohns with a jpouch, it’s so much better than living with a diseased colon. I love my jpouch.

Just be prepared that if it is crohns that you “may” have to treat it wether you have you an ostomy or a j-pouch.

I am not sure about cobblestones. IF it is referring to uneven surface due to deep ulcerations, that could be CD'ish. If it is just referring to granularity, that is just IBD.

You could ask about that word. OR ask abut the depth of ulcerations.
