I think I know the answer to this but I had the jpouch surgery a couple weeks ago, I was a firm new Believer in avoiding High fodmaps prior because those seemed to wreck me the most. Now with my entire colon gone do fodmaps still play a factor in gas and bloating?

I haven't done food maps and I don't know much about it

I always suggest a food diary so you can find out what type of foods you can and can't eat.

Have a j-pouch since May 19. Wasn't a cure.

I ate soft easy foods to start with. Fish(Salmon),mashed potatoes etc until I felt strong enough for meats

Trial and error, you will have new plumbing you’ll have to figure out what works for you.

It will take at least 3 months for your GI tract to fully heal. Right now your intestine is in shock from the trauma from having your colon removed.

Chew well and stay hydrated.
