So it’s been 5 wks since total colectomy. Past week been feeling decent at least but it seems I get these frequent stomach aches . I had a partial blockage last week that pain was unreal. Subsided tho. Now I dunno if this is the start of a blockage or what. It feels like my abdomen is super distended and bloated and pressure like when I bend over to reach something. I’m hopping on the treadmill now to light walk. Currently I walk 5-6 x a week at 20-25 min no problem. Seems now every time I eat it’s a stomach ache. I avoid the foods that are Not recommended like veggies, no nuts at all no popcorn and I try to
Chew pretty well too.

I’d tell your surgeon. Could be just the normal healing process but it could also be adhesions which may have caused your blockage too. This can be easily fixed during your next surgery in a month or two.
You had a really big surgery and it takes time to heal.

5 weeks out is not very long but I think Keith is right. Consult with your surgeon. It could have something to do with scar tissue and blockages... it may also be something that resolves over time. I used to get a lot of pressure in my abdomen after meals but now I very rarely do. Now, if I get it, it would be due to eating something and not chewing well, but even that would be a very rare occurrence. Things do get easier, and even quite similar to before, with time. Do you have trouble if you stick to eating soups?

Hurts like pain, not heartburn or gas? If your bag isn’t filling up with gas and you don’t have heartburn then I’d suspect adhesions which they can fix during your next surgery and sometimes they resolve themselves over time.
It could also be nerves healing from the surgery. Lots of different things but I wouldn’t worry too much. Just let your surgery’s office know and discuss it during your follow up visit.

I haven’t gotten any heartburn really, I’m not sure what a gas pain feels like now but it’s a constant stomach ache like all day long
