Hi guys
So I have been in the worst flare for 5 months with persistent nausea. After receiving clear results from an Esophogram and. Upper Gi my doc wants to do a endoscopy to find the reason of the vomitting. I was finally getting a bit better on the Uceris until I drank the barium contrast for the X-ray and now im back to more bm and cramps. I am a bit scared to do the endoscopy wondering if any side effects can occur. I am really scared as I have only been suffering. Any suggestions/experiences on endoscopy?

Never had one myself but that barium stuff is nasty. I had an x-ray with that stuff back when I first got UC, a long time ago. I think you should definitely get it done to try to figure out the cause of the vomiting.

I have had two endos & both were scheduled early in the morning. Both times I was told nothing to eat or drink after midnight. No barium or contrast involved, very easy.

I always have endo with my colonoscopy (two for one) and it is much easier than colonoscopy - no side effects apart from little sore throat for a few hours

I had one done on Monday and there is nothing to be afraid of. No side effect aside of a little sore throat that Halls will help.
