Hey everyone,

I haven’t been much on here these last few years. I was in remission for a good 5 years. Around Sept started getting a few symptoms (major gas, passing some mucus, seeing a bit of bright blood and bit of urgency). I called my GI and saw her in Feb and she wanted to send me for a scope. Then Covid happened and my scope was not done in March. Got a call last week and got the scope 2 day’s later. GI said the disease is active again sad in my lower GI track. She said she would double up on my dose of Remicade coming up in 2 weeks, bloodwork to see if I développed antibodies and prescribed Mezera foam enema. Anyone ever tried it? Did it help?

I don’t have much advice but I understand how frustrating and disheartening it is. I am also in a flare right now after being well for a few years. I have not tried Mezera but I have tried Salofalk enemas and they did help. I think that what your doctor prescribed should help. Hang in there. Btw I’m also from Gatineau smile

Is mezera foam a steroid? I’ve used uceris foam and found it very helpful. Soothing to inflammation and easy to hold in.

Sorry to hear you're flaring again not familiar with that foam, but generally a Rectal med does sound appropriate.

No it says mesalamine on the box. I told my GI I had a hard time retaining the enemas so she told me to
Try this. It’s been about 5 days now and I’m having less symptoms already smile

Thanks smile its been 5 days and things are looking up. I’m already having less symptoms. It’s funny we are same age, got diagnosed the same year and live in the same city. Which GI do you have?
