By request: how I achieved remission

I achieved remission by following the SCD diet, and nicotine patches. My health crisis was sever, going 15 to 20 times a day all liquid and blood. Urgency, with some accidents really hard to deal with at work. Pain that was like torture. I had a fear of eating because I knew that pain would be the price I paid, but I was so hungry. Nicotine patches helped to lower the pain and inflammation. The diet was the thing that really worked, it just takes a long time when the overgrowth is into the small intestine. The key is getting the gut bacteria back in balance and feeding the good guys what they need to stay in your gut. Was in remission for 5 years and cheated a little to much not sugar, white bread and processed flour and corn. Had a mild flare 3 weeks ago and I am almost back to remission. SCD diet, nicotine patches and food probiotics, is what has got me here. I am also taking an anti-fungal for another health issue that may have ended the flare quicker. Other than the anti-fungal no drugs or steroids. All natural, but I do practice meditation and alternative health practices. Lots of youtube guided healing meditations and delta wave sound therapy.

@scdisciple wow thats great! I have been really struggling with this 10 months long flare and looking for everything I can do possible besides biologics. Did you ever give kefir a shot?

@Flowergal Wow I did read the forum and it is really sad i was in shock when i read the posts. This disease is truly threatening.

Chirion was wantingly lured into believing he would gain remission by nontraditional treatment. Extreme loss of self perspective and denial was very powerful and resulted in his demise.

His UC warranted colorectal surgery many years before his demise, he was in denial, refusing doctor recommendation for this, very low weight, malnourished, in anguish, and struggling with his quality of life. He was stubborn in that the next herb, supplement, etc would put him in a remission. Many here told him to get surgery, for years based on his narrative. He was reaching out to the authors of various natural clinical studies for advice and to others who might give him hope that the next supplement would work for him. I wished he'd have listened and got CRC much sooner. It's sad.

Deaths due to UC are pretty rare these days, and on average patient weight and health is waaay better going into a colorectal surgery than 20 or more years ago. Often due to clinical recommendation to send patients earlier when healthier into surgery which results in much better and safer outcomes. I believe he even had a PICC line for nurishment prior to CRC. No mistakes by staff.

Not his fault...I disagree! There were many opportunities to turn things in a better direction. The fear of losing a colon that is incapable and full of disease is irrational.

This is an issue that should be discussed....hopefully with reasoning and opportunity to kick start some thinking. In saying that, for someone to not see the obvious is a psychological issue...could be induced by malnutrition over a long period of time.

Thank you everyone for your input about this situation it is truly sad what happened with Chiron. I appreciate everyone's honest opinion here to guide me.
