Hello Scarecrow,
I have been reading through the forums and read that you have been taking chinese meds which has helped you a lot. I was wondering if you can give me some advice please. I took qing dai powder for almost 10 days but had nausea, and stomach pain with some extra BM. But during that time my inflammation markers went down. I have been flaring for 10 months now and after seeing the inflammation markers go down I was thinking to give qing dai another shot. Maybe I took it wrong? I was taking 1/4 teaspoon twice a day with water. Any particular way to take the med without having those side effects? Do you believe cc herbal would be better than the powder? Looking for all the knowledge possible..

Sorry for the delay. I just saw this. Yes I have been taking CCherbal for 10 years now. My understanding is that the majority of Qing Dai is heat processed to dry and that is not the process to make an effective product for UC. CCherbal is cold processed. When I started taking it, I did see steady results that took 3-4 months to completely go away. My GI doc said that is the time period it takes to heal ulceration in your colon and regenerate new tissue. Just like a wound takes time to heal.

Everyone has different symptoms but the most aggravating for me was a burning sensation in my gut that kept me from sleeping along with multiple visits to the bathroom. You can only go without sleep for a certain amount of time before it becomes a serious problem. Thank God that is one of the symptoms that was controlled pretty quickly.

I also take CC Herbal and it has helped me. I take so many different things, it's hard to say how well each individual item helps. However, I ran out of CC Herbal last year and stopped taking it for about a week. My symptoms quickly returned. I resumed taking CC Herbal and those symptoms quickly disappeared again.

I tried Qing dai and it didn’t work for me, tried it twice. Haven’t tried cc herbal though, maybe I’ll give it a shot!

@littlebear did you start cc herbal to come out of a flare? how long have you been taking it?
@healingsarah123 did you have bad reaction to the qing dai or it just didnt work?

Yes, I started taking it mid flare, shortly after trying Entyvio. I did notice a difference within a few days of taking it and things slowly progressed from there. It significantly decreased the bleeding, but I would not say it's put me in remission. This has been a really stubborn flare, and I still notice some symptoms, even with my large cocktail of supplements and Xeljanz.

Overall I felt worse but it’s not really something I can pinpoint. I also tried it mid flare. I had a funny aftertaste in my mouth but I took a spoonful with water maybe you can try putting it in a pill? I probably wouldn’t try it again. But Some people swear by it!

@littlebear how much qing dai powder did you take? dosage?
@healingsarah123 a spoonful is a lot i think! you're supposed to take not more than 3grams a day i believe according to the research i've done.
