I started a flare 1 month ago, she put me on the budesonide to try and stay of pred during the pandemic (and traveling) it did nothing - she switched me to Budesonide MMX which is a later release capsule so it gets down to my left sided colitis. Still no significant improvement. Now 40 pred and the usual taper. The budesonide does not show super clinical results.
This is the last pred course - they're moving me to Humira. Last flare 3 years ago.
I was doing very well first 2 weeks on pred, because it is magic and we love to hate it, but then went on vacation and ANY ANY ANY dietary indiscretion popped everything back up. Bowl of chowder, lobster roll, wine or drink. Ugh!
Obv the pred is simply holding symptoms at bay at this point, no true healing. Back home and working with healthy friend: bone broth, miso broth, soaked/very well cooked beans, kefir, extra probiotic, greens supplements in smoothies (awful btw), organic sulfur capsules, and something called Noni (google it), she SWEARS by it. Tastes awful but its just a shot glass AM/ PM. Just thoughts for anyone......wish me luck and good luck to you.
Love yourself through this tough time - its hard to stay positive when results are so slow and you have to ask you friend to pull the car over RIGHT NOW on the highway!
