I rarely post but often read and thankful for lots of good information people share here.
Overall I am doing good atm. I have 3-4 bm a day. I wish it was 1 or 2 as I always feel a little nervous to see what comes out. And feel relieved by noon when I am done with pooping for the day. But it seems normal for me as my father and younger daughter (with no IBD) show the same pattern of emptying bowels. So I am not concerned about frequency. It’s about consistency.
I go thru stages when my first bm is hard pieces (constipation on Bristol scale). The 2 and 3 usually formed and normal. And the last would typically be soft and more like a pile.
My question is how to make the stool uniform. I am experimenting with more fiber, water, tried kiwi and prunes but can’t figure this out.
Currently I take 3x800mg tablets of Asacol a day. And 1 packet of Visbiome probiotic (450 bil) at night sprinkled over some unsweetened applesauce.
Should I change my probiotic to a different one? What would be a good one to switch?
Hopefully your suggestions could help me figure this out.
