So ulcerative colitis is caused by an overactive immune system attacking your colon for reasons as yet unknown.
However I think it's fair to say that a significant number of people have reduced or gotten their UC into remission via the SCD diet, anti - fungal diet etc.
Does that then mean that these people were possibly misdiagnosed i.e. that they didn't really have UC as defined medically but had a different form of colitis that responded to diet?
I know this point is just "moving boxes" but it might be good to know what exactly you are dealing with. There's a doctor who talks about UC on youtube.com and mentions that its the most misdiagnosed condition known - mainly becasue what looks like UC can actually be Crohn's later on but also because there are other conditions that mimic UC.
