for those who have their colons taken out and the whole reversal deal, I was hoping you guys could help me...

I would like to know what I could do to prevent pouchitis, I hate prescription meds... we all do. So the best thing to do is prevent it, and need some help with that. Any information would be helpful.

I don't take any presciptions - I go all natural. To each his own. If you are interested in the natural approach I will tell you that different things help me through each flare-up. One time I stopped it with aloe vera juice taken 5-6 times a day. I rapidly raise my blood count by drinking liquid chlorophyll. I read about a woman that cured her colitis with vitamin E enemas, but I haven't tried it. Nature's Sunshine has several products for the colon that are very good. There are many supplements that are beneficial. You may have to research it and do a trial and error process or see an herbalist in your area.

I have had my jpouch for 7 years and have not had an incident of pouchitis. I take one capsule of Flora Q per day. You can try other probiotics like Culturelle or PB8. I have taken those too at times. You might wander over to www.j-pouch.org and meet other fellow pouchers. There are only two of us on this board.
