Asacol & Upset stomach

Good Morning!  I started on 800mg. Asacol 3x a day, a week ago.  My biggest problem so far is the stomach upset/pain. Does anyone have any suggestions to combat this?  I'm barely existing on crackers, ensures, and yogurt  My loss of appetite has gotten worse since starting this stuff.  It's too soon to tell if it will help the UC or not, I know this, & I'm trying to avoid steroids if at all possible.  But this stomach upset is bad.  Does this side effect get better as we adjust to them?  Or should I try something else?  It's true I need to lose some weight, and  I am, but this isn't a healthy way to do this...HELP!!!

I know it's hard for you to eat a lot right now (I've been there). But I know I have to take my asacol with food or I do get an upset stomach. Asacol has worked wonders for me, I have responded well. Keep in contact with  your doctor, or at least their nurse. I hope you start to feel a little better soon.
