Imuran and hair loss

I just started Imuran, and I read that one of the side-effects is "mild hair loss". I have experienced a little of this already. Nothing truly major; I'm not noticing any thinning... yet, but I'm definitely seeing some hair fall out.

I know everyone is different. Is anyone else on Imuran? if so, what dose and have you lost any hair? how much? How about other side effects? I had blood drawn yesterday and experienced the "easy bruising" side effect. My left arm looks like it belongs to a junkie! The place where they stuck the needle in is black and blue, but I also have small, hickey-looking bruises from when I peeled the tape and cotton off. the tape must ahve pulled the blood to the surface..Crazy. Never had that hapen before..

You will definitely have increased bruising. I look like I'm in an abusive relationship most days! Some folks have hair loss. I haven't noticed that myself in the six years I've been on the drug.

I've only been on it 4 days but I'd swear I saw an increase in hair falling out the first day. Now I'm wondering how much hair usually fell out and I didn't notice b/c I wasn't on a drug that I knew would make it fall out. :P

the hair on my legs has pretty much stopped growing, but the hair on my head seems ok.......not sure why but hope that does not change. I don't think my hair is growing as fast on my head though it's hard to tell. I have not lost any noticeable hair yet, I have fine hair but have a lot of it and have been taking 800mg of folic acid a day. I have heard Nioxin (sp?) can help w/thickening of hair, maybe help disguise losing hair?

My hair isn't falling out at all. In fact I think its growing faster. I now bruise more than ever though.

I have been on it 7 months and thought I at first noticed some thinning of hair, but I think it was all in my mind.  If there was some, it has stopped.  I also haven't noticed increase in bruising, and I play contact sports somewhat frequently.  As with everything, it affects us all differently.
