I don't even know where I would be today w/out everyone here, seriously..........just to know I am not alone and the great advice means the world to me.

now, I need a place just as good as this for my MCD. (there are boards..... but not like this place).

I must concur with everyone whose replied. This is the best forum and I would be lost without it. I know I only seem to come here when I'm flaring, but I do think about everyone often when I go MIA.

I learn something new everytime I visit here. Everyone is always helpful!

I know this is an old post BUT:
I also concur! I have never openly talked about my UC before.
Also, I have never come across such a wealth of info on my condition.

It is amazing how talking to ple on this forum helped me to feel more "comfortable" with UC. The more you know, the less scary things are :) A laugh here and there never hurt either!

Since I found this forum, I've been coming daily too. There's just a certain quality about it - like everyone really cares about each other. A true community. And smart to boot!

Ditto!!!!!  This place really helped to make the difference in being able to cope and give me a much better understanding of what he was going through.  I am his advocate anyway but this forum educated me and empowered me to ask the right questions.  At the Dr appts when things are discussed we are already in tuned and have an understanding of what is being explained. 

Hubby doesn't spend the time on the computer like I do but I give him the "readers' digest" version so he is up to speed on alot of the UC topics here.  Also our suggesting and requesting different tests, meds or whatever with the Dr due to my education on this forum instead of just waiting for the Dr to make suggestions.  Fortunately both his Gastro Drs are very nice and good listeners which make it so easy to deal with.  Likewise they both appreciate our involvement and interaction with the UC and they know we get a lot of our info from this very site and community.

And the best part is no question is too silly, gross or embarrasing.

I completely agree and I have been a member for less than a week! Who thought that a search on 'Prednisone and teeth' could lead to such an amazing find! It's so good to know that I'm not having these experiences alone. I'm very lucky to have an incredible support system at home, but nobody can understand this disease, the drugs, and everything that comes with it except the people who have been there!

I look forward to hearing many more stories!!

Hmmm well obviously I like coming here since I've been a member for 3 years!  tongue   When I first found HW, I was doing a websearch one night about UC.  I seen a little obscure find about a health forum.  I never participated in a health forum before so I figure, eh what the heck??  I came onto HW, read and read and read and finally shared my story.  I was astounded by everyone's caring attitude!  Even though at that time, I never participated in a health forum, I was looking as several but they were hardly ever frequented and I had soooo many questions.  But I was afraid that if I posted a question in these other forums, it would take days, months or years to get an answer.  Here on HW, you can almost guarantee you will get an answer either right away or within 12 hours.  I have 2 words for everyone -

Y'ALL ROCK!  yeah hmm or is that considered 3 words??  tongue

I learned more here in a week than my first GI had taught me in 3 months! Needless to say I am beyond grateful for this site and the people here.

This forum is fab, no matter where you are in the world, there is always someone there to help you with your UC dilemmas. It's always full of latest treatments, experiences and research in UC, I can't think of anywhere else where one could get this sot of information.

Me too, I love this forum.   The chat was fun too, I haven't chatted since highschool.
