Steroid ememas anyone???

I am in a flare and I take 1-2 rowasa enemas a day when needed, and I have for years. Its not really working this time, and  I was wondering if any of you have used Rowasa with steroid enemas and if it worked? I called my doc today requesting it. My UC is primarily left side and rectum. I am kinda sad, because I thought being on Aza would help keep the flares away. I was however feeling pretty good for about 7 mos. which is a record for me. Anyway, I'm babbling... Thanks for any responses.

Yes, I am very fond of the steroid enemas. I use rowasa when I need to. It seems like every few months I start again, but when they stop working I add the cortenemas. I still do rowasa at night and the other in the morning. They work great for me and I usually only do them for a week, then every other night for a week. Give them a try. You'll probably feel better in no time.

it's an option and you won't know if they work unless you try.

How long have you been on the Rowasa at this time?

What exactly are your symptoms?

I have used them separately, at different times, depending on severity of flare. With extreme symptoms the Cortenemas worked fast to reduce urgency, bleeding, D, + feeling that my knees would not hold me up a minute longer. / Old Hat (nearly 30 yrs with left-sided UC; currently on 3 Colazal daily; seem to be back in remission)

I use steroid only enemas, no need for me to use any other form along with it.

Thanks for the responses. Sounds like it works. I pick up my prescription tomorrow and I sure hope it works. 

Quincy,I have been on Rowasa for over 2 weeks now. I occasionally add one in the am as well. My symptoms are D and cramping. I'm over this.

did wonders for me, took about two weeks from going 25+ times a day w/D,B,M etc. then to about 5-10, then within the month semi formed stools and 1-3 bm's a day has been pretty steady since a few weeks ago. I'm not 'normal' yet but I feel at about 90% out of 100% and it feels good = )
