Need Help ASAP Colonoscopy tomorrow

Help!! Need fast answers

Tomorrow Sam is having a colonoscopy, she drank the Mag Cit (8 am) and took a ducolax (noon) and still has not gone to the bathroom, She has to drink the Mag cit at 5  and another dulcolax at 8 tonight. Anyone think its strange she has not gone to the bathroom yet?

I don't want to do all this and then tomorrow not be able to do the procedure. Anybody have any experience with this.

Last time she drank 2 huge gatorades with Miralax and was sick and threw up a considerable amount so that when they did it last time they had a really hard time seeing everything.

 

I would say call the GI's office now and see what they want you to do. I also had a problem throwing up the prep. If she is throwing it up make sure she drinks it slow and a little bit at a time so it doesn't come back up.

I find that if I drink plenty of water during the prep, it moves things along a lot faster. I would for sure call the GI if she hasn't gone soon.

I had the same problem with the mag citrate.. I drank a few bottles, no laxatives though, and didn't go to the bathroom once. I was really worried but sooo tired and I ended up falling asleep. Then, I woke up early in the morning a few hours before my prep freaking out, took a hot shower and that must have loosened things but because I had to jump out mid rinse to go to the bathroom. They did the procedure anyway but they said there was quite a bit of liquid stool in there that they had to rinse away so I'm sure it made things a bit difficult.

Sorry for such a late reply, but I would suggest maybe taking a hot bath or shower!!
