I swear I didn't notice this until after I got UC (or maybe it was after I had the little one). I swear no deoderant will stop the wetness. Anyone run into this? I don't even like to raise my hand b/c I am scared someone will see!

Yes! I never have B.O. or anything but I have noticed that my armpits do tend to get damp regardless of the antiperspirant. I never thought about
it possibly being from the UC, or maybe it's from the meds?

me too. I thought it was just a genetic thing. I've changed meds so much that I doubt it's the meds in my case. I've just made peace with being a lovely, sweaty thing! lol
I've given up buying silk shirts. I ruin them all.

Tab,
this used to happen to me as well and I am absolutely convinced it started when my uc symptoms started. I also noticed that the perspiration got worse when I was in a flare and no normal antiperspirant worked at all. I eventually purchased Maxium, which you apply just before bed and it usually lasts for almost a week, but it only reduced the sweat.

I get horrible night sweats but I don't get the underarm wetness. Have you tried any Otc clinical strength anti-prespirents yet like Sure, Ban (I can't remember who makes it, just remember the commercial for it).

I'll have to add my voice to this one. I wear an anti-perspirant and yeah, I still sweat. Am curious as to why this might be.

In the mean time, I will blame the prednisone. If something is weird, its probably the prednisone

I have some sweating but only really bad when I am flaring and going to the bathroom. My cousin had constant sweaty armpits, she doesnt have UC. She got Botox injected in them and it helped but it was expensive, around $500 I think and lasts a few months.

I had a horrible time with that when I was on Prednisone. Nothing would mask the odor until I tried Certain Dri deoderant. You apply it at night and it stops you from sweating. It totally worked!!! It really helped to prevent the sweat which stopped the horrible odor. It is definitely associated with meds and I know, in particular, it is a problem with Prednisone. I'd give the Certain Dri a try. I think I bought it at my local drugstore and it wasn't expensive at all. Good luck!

Thanks guys! I got some of the clinical strength stuff (can't remember the brand). It didn't help at all...ugh! I will try the other suggestions. There has to be something out there strong enough to keep me dry!!!
